Business Fields
The SWX Swiss Exchange's range of business activities comprises the Swiss cash market, market information
products, the development and operation of securities trading platforms, as well as the admission of
securities to trading.
Apart from dealings in Swiss shares, the SWX Platform also supports trading in bonds (CHF-denominated as
well as International Bonds), publicly listed funds (normal investment funds and so-called ETFs), foreign
shares listed on either a primary or secondary basis, as well as non-standardised derivatives.
Admission of securities to trading
Within the scope of self-regulation and in the best interest of the Swiss financial and securities
exchange marketplace, the SWX Swiss Exchange performs regulatory development and supervisory tasks. It is namely responsible
for the listing and maintained listing of securities that have been admitted to trading on the Exchange.
CH-regulated cash market (SWX Swiss Exchange)
The Swiss cash market for securities is organised by the SWX Swiss Exchange and supervised by the Swiss Federal Banking
Commission (SFBC). With the exception of shares included in the SMI® and SLI® index (which are traded
on SWX Europe), all other SWX-listed securities - as well as foreign companies with secondary listings on
SWX - are traded in this market. Day-to-day dealings on SWX Swiss Exchange, in keeping with the principle of
self-regulation, are supervised by the Surveillance & Enforcement department SVE of SWX Swiss Exchange (see
Organisation).
Market information
The market data are marketed by SWX Swiss Exchange and EXFEED as
standardised or
individually tailored information products. The SWX Swiss Exchange develops, calculates and publishes a wide array of
equity and bond indices.
