Secured Internet Access

The RSD Internet connection is secured trough the usage of a VPN connection which established a tunnel-like session between the RSD user and the SWX RSD server. This connection is encrypted with the help of an user certificate, which provides a very high realibility.

User Certificates

The RSD user receives for each RSD site of Production or Test an unique and personal key, named a certificate, which enables him to make the secured connection to the SWX RSD site.

VPN Security

The Cisco VPN networking software, secures the connections made between the RSD user and the SWX sites with the usage of several mechanisms, which make any intruder, external spoofing or information interception impossible.

RSD (Reporting Security Dealers) is a client-server system developed by SWX based on Internet technology. The client part is a Java applet run by an Internet browser. For security a Virtual Private Network connection using the VPN Software Client from Cisco Systems is employed.

Associated members of SWX receive a URL for downloading free of charge the Cisco VPN Client for Windows from the secured SWX RSD Website. The user certificates and configuration setup for establishing a secure connection to the RSD server must be downloaded and installed on the client side.The necessary codes for accessing and decrypting the certificate file is sent by surface mail in a sealed envelope. If the seal is broken when you receive the envelope please Member Services, so that we can provide a new secure key.
