Congratulations! The SMI® turns twenty

What a success story! Launched in 1988 with a baseline value of 1500 points, it has developed impressively over the past 20 years. Today, the SMI® is viewed as Switzerland's most important stock index and one of the most closely followed indices in the world. As an unbiased and transparent business barometer, it consistently reflects the status of the Swiss economy. For that reason, numerous issuers use this blue-chip index as the underlying instrument for financial products such as options, futures and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Thanks to their trust and tremendous commitment, those issuers as well as the media have made a significant contribution to the fact that we can proudly raise our glasses today to celebrate the 20th birthday of the SMI®. Thank you all!
